On Aug. 4, Tropical Storm Isaias’s high winds uprooted trees and downed branches, causing power outages and damage throughout town, including closing 19 town roads. Crews worked through the night to mark downed power lines and reopen roads.

“This is a slow process and it may be a few days before the town is completely restored with power,” stated Mayor Joseph Carfora.

With as much as 25 percent of the town affected by power outages , the Senior Center was open to serve as a charging station.

No injuries were reported due to Tropical Storm Isaias, though the East Haven Police Department responded to 92 calls for service and the East Haven Fire Department had 82 calls due to the storm.
