Many Ways to Help SLF Help the Library

Now more than ever, the Scranton Library Friends (SLF) needs community support. Inertia: “A tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged.” To our community, let us not succumb to inertia. This is not the time to do nothing. It’s the time to act and support the SLF.

The book donations cabinet at 114 Bradley Road is ready to receive book donations on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. Those with a large quantity of books to donate should email SLF at friends@scrantonlibrary.org to make special arrangements. Stay tuned for book sale updates.

On Sunday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m., SLF has scheduled an inspiring piano concert featuring Daniel Hand High School student Aimee Chang in the First Congregational Church sanctuary. A reception will follow in Hubley Hall. Stay tuned for updates.

Because of community support, SLF was able to meet its pledge of $35,000 and also, added another $10,000 to its support of our library.

Those who have not yet toured the new library can make an appointment to tour by contacting Nicole Wiles, president of the library trustees, at wilesna@gmail.com.

Another way to support SLF efforts is to join SLF as a new member or renew a current membership. Individual membership is just $15 and family, $35. Dues may be mailed to SLF, P.O. Box 4079, Madison, CT 06443.

The community’s past support has contributed to the successful building of this cornerstone of Madison’s center. SLF thanks everyone for making this happen.
