06/25/2020 12:00 AMGovernor Ned Lamont, in conjunction with the governors of New York, and New Jersey, is directing anyone coming in from certain other states to quarantine for a 14-day period “from the time of last contact within an identified state.”
As of June 24, those states included Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah. That list of states will be updated as the rates changes.
In a joint press conference, the three governors said they were instituting the quarantine order because they are concerned the region’s progress, which came at great cost of life and resources, against COVID-19, might be compromised by an influx of travelers from other states where disease rates are rising. The tri-state region’s rates were once the highest in the country, and now the retransmission rates are among the lowest in the country.
Specifically, Lamont said, any state that has a new daily positive rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents, or a state with a 10 percent or higher positivity rate over a seven-day rolling average much self quarantine. The state is offering the most updated information about this, along with an updated list of states included, at portal.ct.gov.
