05/28/2020 12:00 AMBare Necessities is a non-profit organization that provides diapers and wipes to families in need along the shoreline between Guilford and Old Saybrook. The number of families having a diaper need has grown tremendously during these past few weeks. Without the support of our local communities we would not be able to continue to meet the need.
With much innovation and planning, Bare Necessities has found a way to move forward with its major fundraiser: Ducky Dip for Diapers. This will be an old-fashioned duck pond game. Adopted ducks will be put into a swimming pool and we will pull 14 ducks that will win prizes in the order in which they are pulled. Our top six prizes are: $250 gift card to Great Wolf Lodge with an overnight stay, two tickets a 2021 Red Sox game and $100 gift card, six-day passes to Brownstone Adventure, two tickets to 2021 Yankees game, Block Island Excursion, and a 5,000-BTU air conditioner.
This will be a totally virtual event being broadcast on Facebook live on Wednesday, June 20 at 1 p.m. on Bare Necessities, Inc.’s Facebook page. Visit www.barenecessitiesct.org to adopt a $5 duck for the Ducky Dip or for more information about this event. The adoption of one duck provides threedays of diapers and wipes for a baby.
