Madison Beach Hotel recently donated more than 300 pounds of fresh produce to Branford’s Community Dining Room. Fresh onions, carrots, turnips, potatoes, squash, lemons, and watercress were among the produce delivered to the Community Dining Room.

Founded in 1985, the Community Dining Room (CDR) is a private, not-for-profit organization providing food, support and companionship to shoreline neighbors. Executive Director Judith Barron said the Dining Room is serving double the amount of food than usual, with a 10 percent increase in the homebound population for food.

A new lunch-to-go is served in disposable containers, with pick-up at the side kitchen door. To ensure social distancing, the CDR taped out lines for guests in the parking lot. Visit communitydiningroom.org for ways to make donations.
