04/25/2020 12:00 AMOn April 23, Branford Police responded to an unoccupied home under construction in Pine Orchard for a reported burglary. The home had several power tools stolen from within.
Branford Police developed suspects based on information from previous investigations, assistance from an alert Branford resident and information shared with surrounding police agencies. A suspect, Robert Amato, age 58, was located at his residence in East Haven. Amato confessed to committing the burglary and the stolen tools were immediately recovered.
Amato was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Larceny in the 4th degree, Criminal Trespass and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
