Branford Releases COVID-19 Community Resource List

It started out as a way to assist the town's seniors; but the newly-issued Branford Community Resource list is a great place to find out where you can turn for assistance, health updates, important government and business service information, at-home activities and other ideas to help everyone stay safe during the COVID-19 crisis.

The 11-page list, developed by members of Branford's Canoe Brook Senior Center and emailed out on Friday, March 20, will be updated periodically as things change during the COVID-19 period. The list will be emailed to Canoe Brook Center's seniors while all members of the community can find the most up-to-date link also posted online at https://www.branford-ct.gov/departments/senior-center

In addition to notifying Branford's seniors about the likes of help lines with COVID-19 related updates (including United Way's 211 Help Line), the list includes info about which local pharmacies are delivering, where to call for meals (including free meals, if needed), and how to connect for continued assistance with social services; as well as important information and updates to help keep the community connected with needed government services, utility programs and much more.

The list also shares ideas ranging from activities to home fitness other ideas for home-bound seniors, families and kids. Assistant Canoe Brook Director Marlow Ioime is quarterbacking the list for Director Dagmar Ridgway.

"We created it for the senior center; but its really great for everybody in Branford," said Canoe Brook program assistant Ellen Maron, reached by phone by Zip06/The Sound.

The Town of Branford will also continue to provide the latest COVID-19 Community News at the red banner at the top of the Town of Branford website home page https://www.branford-ct.gov and posted at the Town of Branford Facebook page.
