One day after it went missing, an angel statue at the site of a fatal Route 22 crash has been returned to the devastated family who put out a call for help to find it. The statue, which is being registered as a roadside memorial, will return to the site, said the family.

The family of late Nicole Ferrara, a North Branford native, had set up the memorial to watch over the location of the 2014 collision site which took her life. On Feb. 27, the statue was gone. Nicole Ferrara's dad, Carl Ferrara, contacted police to notify them that the statue had gone missing, while the family also took to putting out the word through multiple channels. The family said a Facebook lead helped police to track it down and retreive it from the DOT.

The angel, which was collected by Ferrara at North Branford Police Department on Feb. 28, is being registered by the family with the state as a roadside memorial and will be returned the Route 22 site once the registration is finalized.
