The East Haven Rotary Club recently recognized East Haven High School (EHHS) juniors Ashley Lynch and Ohm Patel as their November and December 2019 recipients of the club’s Student of the Month program.

Lynch, the November recipient, is a member of the EHHS cheerleading team, treasurer of the National Honor Society, executive leader of SADD, and a member of HOSA and the Math League. She is looking to attend college with earning a degree in physical therapy or mathematics.

Patel, the December honoree, is also a member of HOSA, SADD, and the National Honor Society. He plans to major in biology at college and then attend medical school with the goal of becoming a doctor.

Each month the Rotary Club recognizes a student from EHHS’s junior class. The student is invited to attend a Thursday night dinner meeting at the Twin Pines Diner Restaurant and is presented with a certificate and a check for $100. Winners then become eligible for the $1,000 Jack Leary Memorial scholarship to be awarded at the end of their senior year.

The East Haven Rotary Club is now in its 81st year, as it was organized on March 3, 1939. Further Rotary information may be obtained by visiting the Rotary’s website at www.easthavenrotary.org or the club’s Facebook page.
