It was a hardy crew that assembled Dec. 18 at the former East Haven landfill at 240 Commerce Street to break ground for a 1.3-megawatt solar project to be built by Greenskies Renewable Energy LLC. By spring, the intent is to have about 4,000 solar panels on the 20-acre capped landfill site.
