Nominees Sought for Branford Education Hall of Fame Class of 2020

Do you know an outstanding person who has applied their skill, expertise and enthusiasm to facilitate impactful learning benefiting the Branford community? If so, the Branford Education Hall of Fame (BEHF) wants to hear from you.

Nominations are now open for candidates who will be selected to join the BEHF Class of 2020. The public is encouraged to submit nominations no later than Wednesday, January 21, 2020 to be accepted for consideration. As always, all-volunteer BEFH members stress that Hall of Fame nominees do not have to be education professionals. Posthumous nominations are also accepted.

BEHF also notes those who may want to show support for a certain individual are welcome reach out to others to encourage them to complete a separate nomination for the same individual. Nominations, and criteria for nominations, can be viewed and submitted online at https://www.branfordeducationhalloffame.com/ Once a nomination is submitted, a confirmation will be sent back from BEHF.

Supporters of nominees are also encouraged to attend the BEHF 2020 Selection Meeting, set for Tues. Jan. 28, 7 p.m. at Branford Fire Headquarters, 45 North Main St. (snow date: Tues. Feb. 4, 7 p.m.). Attendees will be able to vote for a nominee and/or speak on behalf of a nominee. Last year, 10 nominees were selected to be inducted with the BEHF Class of 2019. Names and biographies of every person ever inducted into BEFH, going back to the first Class of 1998, can be viewed at the website.

Once selected, all members of the BEHF Class of 2020 will be honored at a celebration set for Thurs. April 23, 2020 at Woodwinds Restaurant in Branford.
