For 50 years, Chester residents and designers Janet Cummings and Peter Good have left their mark on Chester history in a myriad of ways. They have designed the town seal, historical publications, numerous civic and business identities, signage, posters, ads, and promotional brochures.

Believing those designs are an intrinsic part of Chester history, the Chester Historical Society will host a free presentation, “Fifty Years of Chester Graphics by Cummings & Good,” on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m. in the Chester Meetinghouse, 4 Liberty Street.

Jan Cummings said, “It starts with making marks. If you’re lucky, and in the right place, at the right time, for a long time, those marks become memorable.”

Attendees can listen and watch while Cummings and Good tell the stories behind those memorable Chester designs as they are displayed on a big screen on the Meetinghouse stage.

The Nov. 17 presentation is part of the Chester Historical Society’s 50th anniversary celebration. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 860-558-4701.
