In celebration of Veterans Day, the students of North Branford Intermediate School (NBIS) had the opportunity to honor servicemen through activities and a luncheon on Friday, Nov. 8. To welcome the veterans, students from Tia DePalm's sixth grade class arranged a display of 1200 American flags outside the school.

Veterans of several branches of the armed services came to speak to the different grade levels and shared experiences during their time served. Afterwards, a luncheon was held for veterans as well as NBIS staff members who served in the military. The activities and luncheon were organized by the middle school's social studies teachers and many staff members.

Guest veterans were John Ardine, Michael Celano, Bob Fortino, John Gill, Sean Gonzalez, Bob Haley, Paul Ludington, Zak Poston, Cliff Potter, and Philip Stevens.
