10/29/2019 12:00 AMVoters heading to the polls in Essex on Tuesday, Nov. 5 will select candidates for municipal offices. The ballots will determine the candidates for the boards of Selectmen and Finance; all other positions are uncontested.
First Selectman Norman Needleman (D) faces a challenge from Matt Fleming (R). The unsuccessful candidate in that race will compete for a seat on the BOS against incumbent selectmen Bruce Glowac (R) and Stacia Rice-Libby (D).
The Board of Finance race has four candidates competing for two six-year terms: Incumbent Democrats Mary-Louise Polo and vice-chair W. Campbell Hudson face Republican challengers Carolyn E. Field and Philip J. Beckman.

On Nov. 5 Essex polls open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Town Hall, 29 West Avenue.
