Deep River Hosts Trunk or Treat, Fireworks on Saturday, Oct. 26

Deep River Parks & Recreation presents two family friendly events on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Plattwood Park. The Trunk or Treat event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. The annual fireworks fun will start at 5:15 p.m. with the fireworks display at 7 p.m.

All are welcome to both free events. Come early to catch all the costume fun or come later just for the fireworks. DJ Mike Prodoti will again be on site for both events playing music and leading the crowd with some dancing fun beginning at 3 p.m. The snack shack will be open to sell hot and cold beverages, sundries, and glow items.

Please take note of the following:

• It’s not too late to register a vehicle and join in the fun.

• Come early for the fireworks and check out the costume parade at 4 p.m.

• If coming for the trunk or treat event, vehicles must be on site by 2 p.m. and will be parked inside the baseball field.

• For the fireworks, all cars are asked to drive in slowly and pull to the far end of the lot and park to the right side of the park.

• Cars coming for the Trunk or Treat event may remain on site for the fireworks.

• Because no street parking is allowed, free shuttle buses will again be offered to transport people from John Winthrop Middle School to the park entrance. The shuttle buses will begin at 5 p.m. and run until 9 p.m.
