10/16/2019 12:00 AMFirst Selectman Tom Banisch (R) ordered flags in Madison to half-staff today in honor of former first selectman Tom Rylander. Rylander was first elected to first selectman in 1991 and served until 1999.
Mr. Rylander also served as a Chairman on the Beach & Recreation Commission and as a member of the Board of Finance. “Tom Rylander was a great guy. He got me involved in government by appointing me to the Charter Revision Commission,” Banisch said. “I will always appreciate that.”
The Town of Madison sends its condolences to Mr. Rylander’s family and friends.
