No Contests in Guilford's Nov. 5 Municipal Elections

This year’s municipal elections are going to be a relatively quiet affair in town, with no contested races and only nine total positions to fill.

On the Board of Finance, Meghan Scanlon (D) and Michael Ayles (D) are incumbents running for four-year terms. Kenneth MacKenzie (R) is not seeking another term; his seat will be taken by Robert Hartmann, Jr. (R).

On the Board of Education, Chairman William Bloss (D) and Vice Chairman Gary C. Kaisen (R) will not seek re-election. Incumbents Kathleen Balestracci (D) and Richard Hersh (D) will be elected to new four-year terms. John Della Ventura (D) and Kristen Marottoli Peck (R) will join the board.

On the Board of Assessment Appeals, neither Amanda Sansone or Popplewell (R) nor Dennis Dostert (D) are seeking re-election. Their seats will be taken by Brian Wiley (D) and Cindy Cartier (R) to serve four-year terms.
