Love My Library Day at Blackstone Memorial Library Sept. 14

September is National Library Card Sign-up month, and the Blackstone Library is celebrating by holding a "Love My Library Day" on Saturday, September 14. You can get a library card any time the library is open, but if you haven't gotten one by Sat. September 14 and are a Branford resident, make plans to go to the Blackstone Library that day.

There will be a library card signup station from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., where you can get a new library card, renew your existing card, get a replacement if you've lost your card, or simply show your card and take a picture in the "I Love My Library" photo booth.

Members of the library's Teen Advisory Board have designed a series of "I Love My Library" buttons. Tell us why you love the Blackstone Library and receive a button with the design of your choice – or use the library's button-maker to create your own!

While you're at the library, ask about the free classes and workshops that are held year-round. There are programs for children, teens, and adults. Plus, the library offers an excellent collection of books and movies, from best-selling blockbusters to classic and everything in between, as well as magazines and newspapers. Your library card also gets you access to downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, streaming movies and TV shows, language learning and job and business databases – all for free!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 14, and get ready to love your library. For more information, visit www.blackstonelibrary.org.

The James Blackstone Memorial Library is located at 758 Main St. in Branford.
