The Alice and David Crosby Environmental Scholarship was established in 1997 in memory of Alice C. Crosby, and subsequently her husband David. The Crosbys were members of the Clinton Land Conservation Trust (CLCT) in its early days, and remained active in its programs and projects throughout their lives. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a Clinton graduating senior planning to pursue an education in a field related to the study of or preservation of the environment. This year CLCT awarded the scholarship to Rachel Flanagan, a 2019 The Morgan School graduate, who will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute majoring in civil engineering with a focus in urban development and environmental sustainability. In Flanagan’s application, she stated, “As a child, I always knew I wanted a job that would allow me to have a positive impact on the environment.”
