Killingworth GOP Nominates Slate for November Elections


At a caucus held on July 18, the Killingworth GOP unanimously endorsed its slate of candidates to run for municipal offices this November.

The GOP nominated Francesco Lulaj to run for the office of first selectman. Lulaj is the owner of the popular local restaurant La Foresta, which this week celebrates its fifth anniversary.

Also nominated to run for the office of selectman were Eileen Blewett, who currently serves on the RSD 17 Board of Education, and Nancy Gorski. Gorski serves on the Board of Selectmen currently. If Lulaj is elected first selectman, only one of the candidates seeking the office of X can be elected.

The following Killingworth Republicans were also endorsed to run for office in the municipal elections:

• Board of Finance (4 year): Andy O’Neill

• Board of Education (4 year): Derek Phelps and Graig Judge

• Planning & Zoning Commission (4 year): Tom Lentz and Paul McGuiness

• Planning & Zoning CommissionAlternate (4 year): Lorinne Kovachi-Sekban and Michael Drew

• Zoning Board of Appeals (4 year): Karen Vecchitto and Bruce Dodson

• Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate (4 year): Karen Perry

• Fire Commissioner (2 year): Don Offner

Killingworth GOP Chairman Karen Vecchitto said, “We are very excited about this great slate of candidates. This is a winning ticket!”
