Branford Police Investigating Mail Theft Reports

On Tuesday, July 9, Branford Police Department (BPD) notified the community via its Facebook page that police are actively investigating reports of theft of mail from business mailboxes in several areas of town. The news followed a July 5 notification from police concerning a complaint of two males seen going through mailboxes in the Island View Condominium complex in the vicinity of 82 Village Lane.

Police ask anyone with information regarding these or similar incidents to contact the department at 203-481-4241.

As part of BPD's effort to encourage community members to report suspicious activity in their neighborhood, BPD recently notified the public it has joined with "Neighbors by Ring," a neighborhood watch app. The app allows users to send real-time crime and safety notifications to the Branford community and directly to the Branford Police Department.

Police are encouraging any resident or business with a survellience camera system (Ring device not required) to upload content to the app. To download the app, text "branfordct" to 555888.
