Summer of Love Returns with the Woodstock @50 Celebration on July 14

The City of New Haven’s Office of Arts, Culture, and Tourism, Bishops Orchards Farm Market & Winery, and Shoreline Arts Alliance are partnering to create a day-long celebration of peace, music, and community building just in time for the Woodstock 50th anniversary.

The Summer of Love Returns: Woodstock @50 will be held at Bishops Orchards Farm Market & Winery, 1355 Boston Post Road, Guilford on Sunday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This full day festival will celebrate love, peace, art, music, and environmental responsibility. There will be food, opportunities to make music, local bands, and arts and crafts. Shoreline Arts Alliance will have a booth at the event where participants can make art from recycled vinyl records and create paper beads out of recycled magazines. Graduate New Haven will be hosting a tie-dye kids T-shirt experience at its booth. At noon, local bands such as Natural Law (Madison), will play and open. The headline act starting at 3 p.m. is Just Sixties, a nationwide Woodstock concert touring group that highlights memorable moments and songs that were featured at Woodstock.

The event is free and open to the public and will happen rain or shine. Sign language interpreters will be available all day. Sponsors for this project include Bishops Orchards Farm Market & Winery; Executive Volkswagen of North Haven; Guilford Savings Bank; Graduate New Haven; LAZ Parking; City of New Haven Office of Arts, Culture, and Tourism; Shoreline Arts Alliance; Sprint Relay Connecticut; National Roofing; and Yale New Haven Health.
