Tracey Proposes Additional $50,000 for Town Beach Personnel

East Haven mayoral candidate and Town Council Member Big Steve Tracey proposed a resolution on June 14 for immediate additional $50,000 to support the maintenance and supervisory personnel at the Town Beach.

“These additional steps are efforts we can take this summer to improve security and maintenance at the beach. At the next meeting of the Town Council, I will submit a resolution to have the town appropriate an additional $50,000 to the Parks account. This funding will be used to immediately provide additional resources to increase supervisory staff and additional maintenance, especially during the summer holiday period. I will also ask our Police Department to increase police presence in the Cosey Beach neighborhoods for the summer months and aggressively ticket parking violators.

“Moreover, I am also in full support and applaud Town Council member Joe Deko’s initiative on alleviating the problem of parking congestion in the Cosey Beach neighborhoods,” Tracey continued. “This issue has plagued the local residents for many years. And I ask all the Town Council members to endorse my plan for monetizing the parking revenue, providing additional resources and security and strengthening neighbor parking standards.

“As a candidate for Mayor, I look forward to the new beginning of bi-partisanship and cooperation to move East Haven forward,” he concluded.
