Branford's First Female K-9 Officer and K-9 Arrow Graduate with CT State Police 201st Patrol Class

June 13, 2019: Branford Police is pleased to announce K-9 Officer Melissa Carney and her partner, K-9 Arrow graduated today from the Connecticut State Police 201st Patrol Dog Class. K-9 Arrow is almost 2 years old.

K-9 Officer Carney is a 7 year veteran of the department, with her Master of Arts in Criminal Justice degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice as well as her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven. She is also a Field Training Officer here at BPD.

K-9 Officer Carney also coaches the Branford High School Girl's Lacrosse Team and has done so for the past 9 seasons. K-9 Officer Carney is the first ever female K-9 handler in the history of the Branford Police Department. Congratulations to K-9 Officer Carney and K-9 Arrow
