TEAMS (tests of engineering aptitude, mathematics, and science) is an annual competition that challenges students to work together and use their math and science knowledge in practical and creative ways to solve real everyday engineering challenges. This year’s theme is The Engineering Brain.

Nine Guilford students designed and built a solution to the engineering challenge of rescuing a teddy bear from a narrow space, answered 80 multiple choice questions in an hour, and wrote an in-depth essay (prior to the day of the competition) on art produced by Artificial Intelligence.

The Guilford students are now eligible to compete in the 2019 national TEAMS competition held from June 28 to July 2 in Washington D.C. during the national TSA conference.
