MADD Hosts Annual Fashion Show to Benefit Programs

For eight years, the East Haven-based state office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has hosted a fashion show to support its mission to aid the victims of drunk driving accidents. This year, the show is coming to Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven on Tuesday, May 21 at 6 p.m.

The models and clothes will be provided by two North Haven businesses.

“This year we’re honored to have Camouflage and Carol’s Creations, both in North Haven,” said Paula Dagostino. “We try to have some fun events to get our mission out.”

MADD provides 24/7 support for victims, providing victim advocates and holding programs to spread their message and remember those victims.

The organization continues to support those affected by drunk driving incidents long after the actual event.

“We try to honor our victims…through our walks,” Dagostino said. “Every day, we’re doing something somewhere.”

They also run victim impact panels to offer drunk driving offenders a perspective on the harm they have caused as part of a court-mandated reform program.

The $50 ticket to MADD’s upcoming fashion show will support these programs. For more information, contact Paula Dagostino at 203-764-2566 or paula.dagostino@madd.org.
