Daniel Hand Hight School junior Ella Dreier created Project Music Unites Us (Project MUU) as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Project MUU aims to unite people of different cultures through music education by providing beginning instruments and instruction to disadvantaged students, along with other needed supplies. The goal is to develop a shared understanding and appreciation of diverse lives and communities through music.

The Pardee Youth Fund is supporting Project MUU by providing school and personal supplies for Native American students at the Leupp Public School on the Navajo Nation reservation in Arizona, which will be sent along with recorders, percussion instruments, and music instruction books donated by members of the Madison community. Through this project, Madison students will have the opportunity to connect with Navajo students by writing letters to the students and helping to prepare and pack materials to send, in addition to participating in combined recorder music lessons via Skype. For more information about Project MUU, email eldreier@yahoo.com.

The Pardee Youth Fund is a trust administered by the First Congregational Church of Madison, but kept separate from all other church funds. The proceeds of this fund are used to support programs and organizations dedicated to the benefit of the youth of Madison. For more information, call 203-245-2739.
