04/11/2019 12:00 AMOld Saybrook’s Board of Finance voted at its March 26 meeting to move the town and education budgets to the annual town budget meeting, with a public information session to take place on Monday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at Old Saybrook Middle School. The town budget meeting will be adjourned to a town-wide referendum, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14.
The total general government budget for Fiscal Year 2019-’20 is $19,999,442, up 1.03 percent from the previous fiscal year’s budget. The education budget is $26,520,747, an increase of 2.75 percent from the previous year.
Together, the budgets amount to a total of $46,520,189, an overall increase of just more than two percent from the previous year. Each budget, however, will be voted on separately at the town referendum.
