03/04/2019 11:00 PMRepublican Town Council District 4 representative Steve “Big Steve” Tracey is the first candidate to publicly declare candidacy for the office of East Haven mayor in the upcoming November election.
Tracey announced his candidacy today, March 5, in a press release that states, in part, “After listening to the taxpayers and concerned citizens of East Haven I believe it is time for a different approach to manage East Haven. We need new ideas and positive leadership to face the demands of Connecticut’s economy and our state’s disastrous financial situation.”
Tracey, a 2017 East Haven Merit Award honoree, made his first run for elected office in 2016 as the Republican candidate in 99th District race narrowly won by incumbent James Albis. In the 2017 municipal elections, he was the highest vote-getter in the District 4 race.
A former professional wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment, Tracey is a partner in DiAdamo-Tracey & Big Steve Bailbonds on Main Street.

‘Big Steve’ Makes It Official. He is running for Mayor.
The Big Steve for Mayor Committee issued this press release today confirming that Big Steve has filed the necessary paper work with the town clerk to run for mayor.
Big Steve said “After listening to the taxpayers and concerned citizens of East Haven, I believe it is time for a different approach to manage East Haven. We need new ideas and positive leadership to face the demands of Connecticut’s economy and our state’s disastrous financial situation”.
He went on to say that “I am committed to making East Haven an even better environment for our young families in town to grow and prosper by keeping more of their hard-earned tax dollars in their pockets while investing in essentials like education, infrastructure, and public safety.”
East Haven is a great town to live and work in. This is why Big Steve chose to bring his business to our Main Street and to call East Haven home, raising a family here as well. Big Steve has worked hard to build a very successful business and plans to work just as hard for the residents of East Haven when elected.
Big Steve pointed to another very important reason for his decision to run for mayor. “Our town’s seniors make up a large percentage of our population, they are the very people who made East Haven what it is today. I want to insure East Haven remains a Town that they can afford to live in and a Town they can be proud of.”
