First Selectman Mike Freda (R) announced on Friday, Feb. 22 his intention to run for a sixth term.

“Over the course of these past nine years, I’ve truly enjoyed serving the citizens of North Haven. I pride myself on trying to deliver outstanding and positive outcomes for the town,” Freda said.

At his State of the Town address the previous day, Freda put forth his goals for a sixth term including continued economic development and the creation of a central block district downtown.

“As I look back on the last nine years, I think we’ve accomplished a lot, but I’m the type that’s never satisfied,” Freda said. “I continue to try to set bold and audacious goals.

“This community will never be derailed in the pursuit of its goals for as long as its citizens want me to be their first selectman,” he said.
