02/19/2019 11:00 PMEast Haven Police are looking for the driver of a White Chevy Express van that was involved in a hit and run on Monday, Feb. 18.
According to police, a female juvenile skateboarder was crossing Tyler Street at 7:34 p.m. on Feb. 18 when a White Chevy Express work van, traveling westbound on Tyler Street, struck her and knocked her unconscious.
Upon arrival on the scene, officers found the skateboarder who was suffering from non-life threatening injuries. Several witnesses stopped to render aid and called 911. Witnesses said that after the initial collison, the van stopped briefly, pulled into a driveway to turn around, and then proceded eastbound on Tyler Street before fleeing the area.
Surveillance video of the area captured the van passing on Tyler Street immediately following the incident. Witnesses can be seen running back to assist the injured juvenile as the van turns around in a driveway.
