01/07/2019 12:06 PMJan. 7, 2019: Please join us for a night out at the Thimble Island Brewing Company on January 17, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. to support the First Congregational Church of Branford's Youth Mission Trip 2019. The group will be traveling to Puerto Rico this summer to help with relief efforts after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. This year, more than 75 high school students, college students, and chaperones will be traveling from Branford to Puerto Rico to rebuild.
Tickets are $25 through Eventbrite and include: one drink ticket given at the door, light refreshments and music inside the brewery, and a cash food truck with Puerto Rican food outside.
Over the past 12 years, The First Congregational Church of Branford has taken crews of students and chaperones to aide in the relief efforts of Hurricane Katrina; into the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky to assist the less fortunate people that work the coal mines; as well as to San Antonio, Texas to work with Habitat for Humanity, assisting them in completing 9 homes, so that several families in San Antonio could realize their home ownership dreams. The group has also traveled to do mission work in: Mississippi, Maine, and Pennsylvania.
