Awards and Honors

• Menalie Hyde of Killingworth was awarded the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program in June.

• Matthew Henry of Madison was honored as a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar in October.

• Erik Matthews of Madison was awarded the Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship for Children of Fallen or Disabled Service Members.

• The following Madison students were awarded the BIC Scholarship in its 48th year: Anthony Marzitelli, who is studying biology at Fordham University in New York, New York; Crista Marzitelli, who is studying nursing at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield; and Danielle Marzitelli, who is studying civil engineering at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

• Emma Wellington of Madison, studying Asian studies, earned the spring 2018 Dean’s Award with Distinction from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.

• The following Madison students were named 2019 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists: Kevin C. Li, Alison E. Lord, and Kevin W. Shi.

• Kathleen McIntosh of Madison was selected to attend the McGowan Business Forum held annually by King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where Kathleen is studying marketing and international business.

• Matthew Henry of Madison was honored as a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, where Henry is majoring in mathematics and government and legal studies.

• Abby Noniewicz of Madison was inducted into the Sacred Heart Academy Science National Honor Society in September.

• Erin Bishop Elliott of Madison was inducted into the Order of the Gown at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in September.
