This version of Branford Community Forest Commission's (CFC) "notable tree " series is not a single tree but many trees, a whole bank of them, mostly native hardwoods, in their autumn colors at Branford's Young Pond and Park in the Pine Orchard section of town.

Located along Route 146-Blackstone Avenue, the nearly 50-acre Young's Pond and Park property contains a pond, on which generations of Branford residents have skated; a dog park that's very popular with 4-legged creatures and their two-legged minders; and a nature walk with many trees listed by variety on maps available at the property.  If you have not already done so, visit soon. You won't be disappointed!

The CFC hopes to continue to share photos and information of additional Branford Notable Trees, to help increase public awareness of the importance of the town's trees. To nominate a native notable tree, contact llr26@ymail.com
