11/08/2018 11:00 PMThe Motel 6 on East Main Street in Branford turned into a crime scene on Nov. 8 after police officers responded to a stabbing.
Officers responded to the motel around 4:30 p.m. to a report of a woman stabbed in the neck. The woman was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect, identified as 69-year-old John Ginnetti of Madison, was caught by officers as he was trying to leave the motel parking lot.
Ginnetti is being held on a $500,000 bond and is facing changes of assault in the first degree. Officers from neighboring towns, including Madison, were brought into assist with the investigation.
