The Clinton Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to approve the sale of the old Morgan School property to the developer Greylock Property Group for $2.2 million.

A public hearing on the proposal will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. The hearing will be followed by a vote at a town meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.

The space will be turned into Indian River Landing, a mixed use development consisting of retail, restaurants, a large scale grocery store, and townhomes. There will also be space to potentially accommodate a hotel.

The completion of the project is estimated to take five years. Approvals must be granted by the town at the town meeting, as well as by the Board of Finance and the Planning & Zoning Commission.
