The second annual Sunday FUND-DAY, presented by The Branford Group on Sept. 16, included food, a raffle, a tasting of wines from One Hope (a philanthropic brand of wines) and live entertainment by Clinton duo Chris and Laura Funk, all to benefit Strong House Adult Day Center.

The festivities were held on the grounds of Strong House Adult Day Center, 546 Durham Road in Madison, under a tent that was donated for the day by Taylor Rental in Branford. Food was provided by La Cuisine in Branford, courtesy of Artis Senior Living of Branford, and Pasta Avest in Guilford. Dessert was provided by Gelato Giuliana of New Haven.

Strong House, a nonprofit affiliate of VNA Community Healthcare & Hospice, is a place for older adults with memory care or physical needs that present challenges if the person is home alone during the day. Clients are engaged to help them maintain their highest level of function in a social environment with medical support to ensure they are well cared for and have the opportunity to form friendships and enjoy life to the fullest.

Strong House relies on the generosity of donors to fulfill its mission. Dozens of Strong House Adult Day Center clients, family members and friends gathered for the recent event in support of this cause.

“We were grateful for the support of so many who understand and appreciate the unique and beautiful service we are able to provide at Strong House to ensure our clients have the best quality of life possible,” said Strong House Executive Director Kate Blais.

Strong House caters to those with dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, cardiac issues, chronic illness conditions, loneliness, and depression. For more information, visit stronghousect.org. To donate to Strong House Adult Day Center, visit bit.ly/StrongHouseDonations.
