09/18/2018 12:00 AMThe Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main Street, East Haven, hosts its third annual Health Fair on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can receive free hearing, vision, blood pressure, osteoporosis, and dental advice. There will also be the A1C fasting test for diabetes (for a $5 fee), allergy testing and flu shots (a health insurance card is required for these services).
Other services provided at the fair include:
• Free mammogram sign-up
• Free cancer screenings sign-up
• Benefits screenings (bring a list of income, expenses, and assets)
• Mental health and addiction services
• Volunteer opportunities for seniors
• Food assistance
• Homecare services
• Energy Assistance applications
• Advice from a nutritionist
• Children’s behavioral support services
• Autism and children’s developmental support services
• Physical therapy information
• Learn all about Medicare
• Health benefits of essential oils (free samples provided)
• Rock painting outside on the library lawn for children
The first 50 attendees will receive a free lunch sponsored by Subway Restaurant. Attendees can also participate in a free raffle by picking up a health fair passport/brochure and having it stamped at each table to be entered in a drawing for a $100 gift card, or turn in their brochure before leaving to enter into a random drawing to win a $50 gift card. Drawings are held at 2 p.m.
