09/05/2018 04:19 PMThe United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut in conjunction with Westbrook High School Athletic Department Coaches Education Program hosts an opioid awareness event for athletes and their parents on Thursday, Sept. 6 in the Westbrook High School Auditorium, 156 McVeagh Road. The event starts at 6 p.m. with a showing of Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict, a documentary created by the FBI and DEA to educate students and parents about the dangers of addiction. The movie will be followed by a panel discussion with a federal prosecutor, DEA agent, and local parent who recently lost a child to an opioid overdose.
