• Christina Feller of Chester earned her doctor of nursing practice degree from Quinnipiac University on May 12.

• Amy Zupan of Essex earned her sixth-year diploma in educational leadership from Quinnipiac University on May 12.

• Whitney Wachtarz of Chester earned a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice from Quinnipiac University on May 19-20.

• Sara Giangrande of Chester earned a bachelor of science degree in diagnostic imaging from Quinnipiac University on May 19-20.

• Zachary Smith of Chester earned a master of science degree from the University of New Haven College of Business, Healthcare Administration in May.

• Luke Gagnon of Chester earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Salve Regina University on May 20.

• Cole Magee of Chester graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering/mechatronics concentration from Western New England University.

• Jonathan Metsack of Ivoryton graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in business administration/accounting from Western New England University.

• Iestyn Norton of Deep River graduated with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Western New England University.

• Carly Carta of Chester earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Coastal Carolina University on Aug. 3.

• Connor James Barnes of Ivoryton earned a bachelor of science degree in history with a minor in sociology from Northern Michigan University on May 5. Barnes will continue his studies this fall at Boston University’s Metropolitan College, where he has been accepted into its Culinary Arts Program.

• The followign Deep River students graduated from Southern Connecticut State University: Isabel Acampora, M.S.; Devon Bakoledis, MSW; Katherine Cullina, B.S.; Carlin Huckel, B.A,; Haley Samuelson, B.S.; and Rebecca Shomo, SYC.

• Connor Riordan, an incoming senior at Valley Regional High School, was selected as a senator for American Legion Boys Nation in the Washington, D.C. area, July 20 to 27. Boys Nation is an annual American Legion program that includes civic training, leadership development and a focus on Americanism. Riordan has held the positions of lieutenant governor and public works at Connecticut Boys State. He has participated in the National High School Oratorical Contest. At Valley Regional, he is Student Council president, a member of the National Honors Society, and a member of Carnegie Hall Chorus. He is a resident of Chester and plans to attend Georgetown University with aspirations of a career in politics.
