Branford Primary Results

Following the close of polls on August 14, Branford Democrats voted for party-endorsed gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont with 1,983 votes over candidate Joe Ganim, who received 327 votes in Branford. Republicans in Branford supported Bob Stefanowski for Governor, with 555 votes among five candidates in the running, including party-endorsed Mark Boughton, who received the third-most votes (171) after GOP contender Timothy M. Herbst (204 votes).

According to final numbers from the Registrar of Voters, among the town's seven voting districts, Branford Republicans generated a 34.19 percent turnout at the polls on August 14, with 1,244 of the town's 3,639 registered Republicans voting. The turnout percentage was slightly lower for Branford Democrats on August 14, with 32.64 percent Democratic response at the polls; or 2,352 electors voting out of a total of of 6,808 registered Democrats in town.
