At its May 24 meeting, the Branford Economic Development Commission presented American Polyfilm, Inc., with its Business Recognition Award.

Founded in 1998 in Branford by town resident Victor Cassella, American Polyfilm, Inc. (APi) is a major producer of polyurethane film products. Today the company is family owned and operated with Cassella serving as president and CEO and sons Matt and Paul overseeing APi’s manufacturing operations and its sales and marketing efforts, respectively.

In January 2016, APi moved from its original leased facility nearby on Route 1 and opened a new, 28,000 square foot headquarters with expanded, state-of-the-art manufacturing capacity. Since then, APi has doubled its workforce and has grown to become a major exporter of polyurethane products, supplying customers in Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, and Russia.
