Branford Fireworks Display June 23 at Foote Park

Branford’s annual pyrotechnics display to celebrate Independence Day will go off at dark (approximately 9:30 p.m.) on Saturday, June 23 from Foote Park on Melrose Avenue. The display was moved from Branford Point’s town dock this year due to construction work closing the Harbor Street bridge.

Views of the display should be visible from many of the same locations as in past years, according to the all-volunteer Fireworks Committee’s recent update on Facebook. Branford Parks and Recreation Dept. is encouraging viewers who want to watch the event from Foote Park to take a free shuttle bus to the site. Shuttles will run continuously from the commuter parking lot at Cherry Hill on Commercial Drive and the parking lot at Branford High School, 185 East Main St., beginning at 5:30 p.m.

For more information on what’s available in the hours ahead of the fireworks going off, including food trucks offering dinner selections and more, find Branford Fireworks on Facebook. Rain date for the fireworks display will be Sunday, June 24.
