Public Feedback Sought; Meeting Set to Review Draft of Updated Branford POCD

The Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) Update Steering Committee has scheduled a public meeting to get input from residents and businesses and property owners as part of updating the POCD for Branford. The public meeting is scheduled for Wed. June 13, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Blackstone Library, 758 Main St.

The committee is seeking feedback on its draft of the 2018 POCD, which is available on the town website here.

“This plan is an important document which will be used to guide future conservation and development activity over the next decade and beyond,” said Phil Carloni, chairman of the POCD Update Steering Committee.

Following the public meeting, the POCD Update Steering Committee will review the comments received and further refine the draft before submitting it to the Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC) for consideration. The PZC is anticipated to schedule a fall, 2018 public hearing on adoption of the updated POCD.

A POCD is an advisory document used by the PZC and other Town of Branford agencies to protect the resources important to residents, guide growth and change in Branford and identify facilities and services needed or wanted to support the community. Branford residents are encouraged to come to the June 13 meeting to help ensure the 2018 POCD reflects community goals.
