Democrat Adler Wins Unanimous Vote for D-35 Assembly Seat

Accepting the Democratic Party’s May 16 nomination, candidate Jason Adler of Clinton promised to “Bring Blue Back” to the Connecticut House District 35 at the convention. Adler, a Connecticut native, was unanimously endorsed as the party’s candidate representing Clinton, Killingworth, and the north side of Westbrook to the House of Representatives, at the convention held May 16 in Clinton.

A school counselor in the Waterford Public Schools, Adler said he became politically energized by the 2016 presidential election.

Watching the Connecticut General Assembly during the current session, Adler said, “We need to put aside the blame game of who got us into this mess and focus on the solutions that will get us out.”

He said he recognizes that tough choices need to be made to bring Connecticut’s fiscal crisis under control.

“These decisions need to be made by a new crop of legislators—ones not beholden to reelection concerns or special interests,” he said.

Serving as a fierce advocate for his students over the past 16 years, Adler now wants to promote the interests of the 35th District in Hartford. He believes his mediation skills will help bring reasonable members of each party together to form a common sense coalition—one whose only aim is to benefit the citizenry of Connecticut.

Born in Hartford and raised in Middletown, Adler has lived nearly 20 years in Clinton. He lives with his wife, Meredith, and two sons, Isaac and Tobias.

The convention was elected unanimously by seven delegates from Clinton, four from Killingworth, and two from Westbrook. John Olsen of Clinton served as temporary chair. Bethany Knight is the Adler campaign chair; Ellen Dahlgren, the treasurer. Both women and Adler are members of the Clinton Democratic Town Committee (DTC). Another DTC member, Jonathon Wolfer, is heading up the campaign’s social media presence.
