Dean’s List for Fall 2017

The following residents were named to the dean’s, president’s, and/or merit lists at their respective colleges and universities for the Fall 2017 semester, unless otherwise noted. The student’s class year is that which pertained at the time of the achievement.

• Clark University: Larissa K. Beecher of Old Saybrook and Mira E. Siewert of Westbrook

• University of Rochester: Alaina Attanasio of Clinton

• Johnson and Wales University: William Fritz III of Clinton

Academic and Extracurricular Achievements

• Carson Percival of Old Saybrook, a 7th grade student at Old Saybrook Middle School, was named a Connecticut National Geographic State Bee semifinalist by the National Geographic Society.

• The following local photographers were honored at the 12th annual Land Trusts Photo Contest at the Lyme Senior Center, Old Lyme on April 6: Allie LaMotte of Old Saybrook, second place in the Youth category; Ashley Holt of Westbrook, fan favorite in the Youth category; Lisa Smith of Old Saybrook, honorable mention in the Landscape/Waterscape category; Maryann Flick of Old Saybrook, honorable mention in the Wildlife category; Chris Flick of Old Saybrook, honorable mention in the Wildlife category; and Richard Patterson of Old Saybrook, honorable mention in the Wildlife category and honorable mention in the Plants category. The contest attracted 350 entries depicting wildlife, flora and scenery of East Haddam, Essex, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Salem.

• Cassidy Neri of Westbrook and Albert Viglione of Clinton, both students at Eastern Connecticut State University, were inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international economics honor society. Neri was also inducted into Alpha Beta Gamma, the university’s chapter of the national honor society for political science, Pi Sigma Alpha.

• Sabrina Martins of Westbrook, a student at Eastern Connecticut State University, received the Academic Achievement Award.

• Stephen Healy of Clinton, a student at Quinnipiac University, was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international society serving business programs.

• Rebacca Raab of Clinton, a student at Quinnipiac University, was inducted into the Tau Rho Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the international academic nursing honors society.
