Bell Tower Fund Donations Still Being Accepted

Construction activity at Northford Congregational Church, "A Little Church with a Big Heart," should be commencing soon now that a contract has been signed with the company that will be building the base for the bell tower and steeple.  Work had been delayed as various companies studied the work necessary to prepare the base upon which to place the tower and steeple.  Proposals were very slow to come in, and costs were much higher than originally anticipated.  Petra Construction of North Haven, which has done similar work at other churches, was selected as the most qualified for the job.

Due to the higher costs, donations are still being accepted for the Bell Tower Fund.  Completion of the bell tower and steeple, which was put on hold until the base was finalized, is expected to be finished out of state in the near future before being shipped to Northford.

All donations of any size are gratefully accepted and appreciated.  In recognition of donations of $750 or more from individuals, organizations, businesses, and groups, a bronze plaque with the name of the donor(s) will be permanently placed on a monument at the base of the tower.  Tax-deductible donations can be made payable to NCC Bell Tower Fund, P. O. Box 191, Northford CT 06472.  For any questions or more information, call 203-234-7794.

The historic Northford Congregational Church (203-484-0795) is located at 4 Old Post Road at the corner of Route 22 and Route 17 in the Northford village in North Branford.
