With musical theatre performances of "Peter Pan Jr." coming to Branford April 27, 28 and 29; followed by June performances of a new "Disney Magic Carpet" kids' cabaret; non-profit Tabor Arts Branford is putting the magic back in family theatre for local audiences and kids who love to take the stage.

As a non-for profit organization based out of Tabor Lutheran Church, Tabor Arts has served the Connecticut shoreline for over 30 years. Musical theatre productions take the stage in the auditorium on the church campus at 45 Tabor Drive. As part of its performing arts programming, Tabor is excited to invite the community to come and enjoy the first spring musical to be led by new co-directors Jamie Petrone and Colin Sheehan: "Peter Pan Jr."  The musical features a troupe of 17 young artists in a fully-staged production, on stage at Tabor for three community, family-friendly performances Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. Tickets and more information are available at www.taborartsbranford.com.

In addition, Tabor Arts Branford is excited to offer children in grades 2 – 8 the chance to spend a few weeks this spring preparing and then performing in a "Disney Magic Cabaret" on Friday, June 8, 7 p.m. at Tabor; followed by another performance on the Branford Festival main stage Sunday, June 17. The cabaret will be filled with favorite Disney songs.

Tabor Arts Steering Committee chairman Sean Jeffery said the new children's cabaret is a great opportunity for local kids' musical production alumni and other children in grades 2 – 8 to continue or begin their musical theatre performance journey. The "Disney Magic Cabaret" program is offered through Tabor Arts Branford for a fee of $125. No previous theater experience needed; program begins Tuesday, May 1, 6:30-8 p.m.  This program will also be guided by Sheehan, who serves as Tabor's Artistic Director, and Petrone, who is Tabor Arts Branford's Executive Director/Music Director.
