For the seventh year, Connecticut shoreline fire departments hosted a one-day food drive on April 14 to collect non-perishable food for local food pantries run by the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries (SSKP). The North Madison Volunteer Fire Department took part, collecting food, cleaning, and personal items at Robert’s Food Center. Last year’s shoreline food drive brought in more than 5,200 pounds of food and over $860 in donations. This year’s food drive’s goal is 6,000 pounds of non-perishable food to help those in need.
