04/19/2018 12:01 AMThe Clinton PTA honored the 2018 Reflections Arts winners at a reception on Feb. 28 at The Morgan School. The PTA awarded 10 students from Eliot and Morgan, and announced three winners who are moving on to the state competition.
PTA Reflections is a national arts awards program that gives students confidence in their abilities to explore ideas and learn through the arts. Eliot and Morgan students created and submitted original works in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts based on the 2017-’18 theme “Within Reach.”
Clinton PTA Reflections winners at the middle school level include Anastasia Colebank (first place, Visual Art) and Ashley Inglis (first place, Dance Choreography). Winners at the high school level include Logan Cummings (first place, Visual Art), Wyatt Reu (first place, Music Composition), Courtney Viglione (first place, Photography), Kate Daley (second place, Photography), Juan Avila (third place, Photography), Sarah Auletta (first place, Literature), Marie Kane (second place, Literature), and Katie Kozak (third place, Literature).
The Connecticut Reflections Arts Contest state winners include Sarah Auletta (second place, High School Literature), Courtney Viglione (second place, High School Photography), and Ashley Inglis (third place, Middle School Dance).
State winners will be celebrated at the Connecticut PTA Reflections Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 16 at Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield. National winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 1. The Clinton PTA thanks Cindy Stevens Fine Art and Madison Furniture Barn for sponsoring the PTA Reflections program again this year.
